Pride in Numbers

Welcome to the Pride in Numbers Community Art Project!

About the project

Pride in Numbers is a community-led, statewide research project for Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ individuals across Oregon. Through an online survey, storytelling sessions, and this community art project, Pride in Numbers is creating a powerful portrait of Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ life in Oregon.
Participants of all ages are invited to submit creative works to a living online art collection—an expanding space where art becomes resistance, care, and truth. Each piece offers a meaningful way to share stories, identities, and perspectives on our own terms. Because our community is more than numbers and data.
Submission guidelines
🟤 We are welcoming digital submissions of visual artwork such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, fiber art, beadwork, textiles, mixed media, digital work, and other forms of arts and crafts. We are specifically looking for artwork that speaks to the many expressions of Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ experiences across Oregon, whatever that may look like for you.
🟤 We know each of you holds many identities, and we welcome you to weave your lived experiences and other parts of who you are into your artwork, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, class, culture, disability and more in whatever way feels right and comfortable for you.
🟤 You may submit your own artwork only once.
🟤 You retain ownership of the artwork you submit. You will have the option to provide permission to Pride in Numbers to display your artwork in a number of ways. Pride in Numbers is regretfully unable to provide compensation to artists.
🟤 We encourage you to submit work that can be shown to a wide audience of all ages. We'll be selecting artwork to display that reflect the themes, stories, and insights emerging from this project.
🟤 If you're submitting artwork that features photographs of people's faces, you must have approval from all individuals depicted and the individuals depicted must be 18 years old or older.
🟤 You (or any individual depicted in a photograph) may request to have the artwork or credit attributions removed from the project up until the project closes (currently scheduled for October 2026) either by contacting Pride in Numbers (art@prideinnumbersoregon.org) or messaging the website or social media administrator where it is posted. Pride in Numbers will promptly honor withdrawal requests. However, it may not be possible to remove materials or attributions from all printed or online publications that were publicly shared prior to receiving the request.
